"REPOSITIONING LOCAL GOVERNMENT"

PROFESSIONALISATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
What framework or model can be used to professionalise local government (LG)? What will be the benefits of professionalisation?
THE CHANGING POLITICAL LANDSCAPE
What is the impact of the changing political landscape in LG on the work of the MMs and Senior Managers? What should be done to ensure that MMs and SMs are safe?
How can municipalities be prepared (plan) and respond to disasters adequately?
How can municipalities avoid public protests? What service delivery models can help municipalities deliver on their mandates?
Presentation of papers should be no more than 20 minutes long, with 10 minutes reserved for questions and comments from the floor.
